We know that I will be induced if I reach August 7 (41 weeks 1 day), and I really want to avoid that! Rob must be in Virginia by August 16 at the absolute latest (and that means he must start driving by August 12). Given this, we need to have this baby by August 7 at the absolute latest. If that happens, Scott and I can fly on the 14th.
So here are some methods that I am researching....
1.) Doing what put him there to begin with....
2.) Evening Primrose Oil: Evening primrose oil is a commonly used method of naturally preparing the body for labor. It does not directly induce labor, as commonly believed. Evening primrose oil acts as a prostaglandin, which ripens and softens the cervix. The ripening of the cervix can help the baby's head engage deeper into the pelvis, which can help with dilation. Ripening the cervix can cause some of the contractions that start labor.
3.) Raspberry Leaf Tea: Helps strengthen the pelvic and uterine muscles so that once labor does start the muscles will be more efficient.
4.) Spicy Food
Regiment:
Evening Primrose Oil: 36-38 weeks: 1,000 mg; 38 weeks plus: 2000 mg.
Raspberry Leaf Tea: One mug a night starting @ 36 weeks.
Let me know how the tea works... It sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteProbably won't know that until baby arrives!
