I "think" that breastfeeding is going pretty darn good! Scott has been consistently dirtying at least 3-4 diapers a day. (2-3 poops, 1-2 pees). I am a bit concerned with the number of wet diapers, but am thinking that I can't always tell when a diaper is actually wet.
I do think breastfeeding could be better, though. With that in mind, I am going to visit the lactation clinic at the hospital to ask a few questions.
My Questions:
1.) Scott sometimes has difficulty latching on, especially when he is tired or very hungry. He also gets easily frustrated when it doesn't happen quickly. Am it do it exactly right? How can I be better at getting a good latch quick?
2.) So far I prefer the cradle hold. What exactly should you do with baby's lower arm??
3.) How do you tell when a diaper is wet?
Tips from the internet. Maybe these might help too:
1.) Put a cotton ball or a piece of tissue in the diaper and if that gets wet then you will know.
2.) To feel what a sufficiently wet diaper is like, pour 3 tablespoons of water into a clean diaper.
Wet diaper to me = is it mushy in the front when I squeeze it?
