I have officially completed 8 months of pregnancy. WOW! I am now entering the official last month of my pregnancy. I simply cannot believe that.
What's New With Scott? Scott is still packing on the pounds -- at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. Scott will swallow both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of his first bowel movement.
Sleep? I've actually been sleeping like a log the past couple of nights. Coupled with the fact that I have the beginnings of a head cold, I have a little pregnant momma snore according to Rob. The poor man is being slowly forced out of his bed. With my maternity pillow, my snoring, and my frequent bathroom trips, I'm not the best bed companion these days.
Best moment this week? Rob and I went shopping for baby gear. Scott now has practically everything he needs to come home to his family.
Food cravings: Randomly Chick A Fillet....
Sex of the Baby: Boy!
Belly button in or out? Still in, but very shallow.
Movement: Scott has been pressing up against my ribs the last couple of nights. It's getting pretty uncomfortable, to tell the truth. But at least this means that Scott is strong and healthy.
What I miss? Wine. With the stress of dissertation writing, I could really use a drink!!
What I'm looking forward to: Reaching full term. One week left.
