The Anxiety of Comparing

It is never a good idea to start comparing your child to someone else's.  It's probably not even a good idea to compare your own children to each other if you happen to have more than one.  I understand this in my head.  I still can't convince myself to stop doing it,  though.  I really wish I could.  It is causing me some anxiety and I really don't need it.

Scott just seems like he's on his own schedule in terms of development and I really shouldn't rush him.  I really shouldn't even worry.  He's still within the range of "normal":  10 months now and not crawling  He just started going onto all fours a few days ago and he's no where close to standing up.  It's crazy that other babies his age are already cruising and almost walking.   Ugh.  Why is there always something to worry about....

  1. If I could "like" this blog post, I would. Scott seems to be doing just fine! He'll stand up when he's ready. And crawling isn't even a real milestone anyway!

  2. Oh boy! I so struggle with comparing MYSELF to Mommy's who "have it all together" or even to myself pre-Lincoln!
I have unrealistically high standard for my homes cleanliness and cooking an d such. But the fact is, my number one job is my son
It is difficult to allow myself lenience!!
