Following some other moms' suggestions, I decided to start Scott on a bedtime routine two weeks ago. Beginning between 7:30 and 8:30pm (depending on when Scott's earlier nap happened), I give Scott a calming bath and then get him in his pajamas. I am very happy to report that Scott has sleeping-through-the-night since. Before, he peaked his total night time sleep time at 7 hours. The first night I did this, he slept 9 hours! A dramatic difference. This has consistently happened every night since.
Also, two nights ago, I transitioned Scott from the swaddle blanket to the sleep sack. The bedtime routine, I think, ensured that this was a smooth transition. He still slept 9 hours! Woo hoo! I feel so well rested these days.
That's awesome! Maybe I'll give the bath thing a try...
ReplyDeleteYAY! 9 hours is great! T is still off and on but we never have nights shorter than 7 hours before feeding again and putting him down.
