Valentines's Day

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?  We met in December 2004. (12-03-04)  We started dating in June 2005. We still celebrate our "meet" day, though, as our dating anniversary.

2. How did you meet?  We met in graduate school at UC Riverside through mutual friends.  At the time, I was set to leave graduate school in March and move 400 miles away (from Riverside to San Francisco).   For the longest time,  I thought he wasn't the guy for me.  After my graduation ceremony,  he visited me in San Francisco because I promised to show him around.  Neither of us could deny that we felt strongly for each other and we started a long distance relationship.  I September 2005,  I moved back to Riverside and re-entered graduate school. We've been together ever since.

3. If married, how long have you been married? Married September 5, 2008 

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  Our ceremony and reception took place at Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula.   One hundred people.  Not too big, not too small.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another?  Rob is "Bear."  I am "Tiger."  I really can't remember how this got started.  Together,  we are "Lob" for Laura and Rob.  

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.  His humor, his intelligence, and his dedication to his family.

7. Tell us how he proposed?  He proposed in a hot air balloon over the Temecula wine country.  So very romantic! 

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?  Neither, actually, which is fine by me!  We like to spend our money on activities to do with each other.  We'll drink a nice bottle of wine on Valentines' Day, but that is all.  I will buy him nothing.  He will buy me nothing. 

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?  Both!  I like variety.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day.  We both love wine and wine tasting trips.  We got married at a winery. We honeymooned in France, and went wine tasting  in Champagne and Burgundy. We are members of wine clubs.  We also took a pre-baby "last hurrah" to Napa.  We really want to tour the major wine regions of the world including Italy,  Argentina, and Australia.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day. Drinking wine. 

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?  Nope!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.   Talk as much as possible.  I really think Rob and I are at our strongest when we talk through all of our issues.  And talk about our hopes and dreams for the future.
